I don’t normally photograph our meals, but this one seemed
particularly photogenic and I had my camera out on the dining room
table. It’s a sort of Mediterranean salad of chickpeas cooked with
ginger, spring onions, chillies, cilantro and lemon juice, zatar and
mixed with cous cous and served with pita. Was pretty yummy and very
quick to prepare. Emily added cocoa balsamic to hers. I tried some
tahini. Both added a different element to the already flavourful
salad.
We guess this is what they eat at Easter in Finland. They also had
Pea Soup and Reindeer Stew. The pastry was like a "Danish" but had a
cardamom flavour. Not very sweet, but quite good.
We run by this girl, but I never have my camera when we’re running.
Fortunately, on our way back from the Finnish Easter Festival the
other day I happened to have my camera on hand so I could capture her.
Yes, that guy is pretending to be a CCTV camera. Why? Just because.
Last time I lived in London, this area was a construction site behind Paddington Station. Paddington Waterside Partnership has been the driving force of change.
On a tour with the Royal Town Planning Institute, we were led through a whistle-stop tour of all fourteen building sites within the basin.
New canal towpath linking Little Venice to Paddington
Sheldon Square entrance to Paddington Central (from the canal path)
Lunch on the Square (in rain and wind)
The tour had many more interesting bits but sadly my being lost and the deteriorating conditions did not allow for further photos. A return trip is planned on an sunnier day for dim sum at Kam Fung with Ann’s brother, Ken.
Tuesday, I offered to assist the Stitch Wandsworth project with a visit to the V&A. These women, many of whom have lived in London for more than 30 years, had never visited the museum. It was a delight to meet these wonderful women who had such interest in all of the collection.
Sunday evening, Kerry and I wandered up to Tufnell Park to try out some amazing Ethiopian with Ricklet & Paul at Lalibela.
The name taken from the historic site of the stone churches in Ethiopia.
Ricklet & Paul doing their best to smile more than the guys behind them.
We’ve been having picnics of chocolate and nuts on top of the mountain
overlooking Mont Blanc. Today it was pretty empty up there and
provided an opportunity for Em to pose with Mont Blanc in the
backgound.
Emily got brave again today, against my better judgment, and decided
to move up to the next level. This is what she skied down. I was
very proud of her, and scared for her at the same time. She’s come a
long way since Sunday. Only two days left!
